- Ask yourself, “Was there anything in this chapter thatI found triggering? Why?”
- Ask yourself, “What was my relationship with rewards and punishments growing up?”
- Ask yourself, “What is my partner’s (if you have one) view of rewards and punishments, and how is it different to mine?”
- Ask yourself, “How can I and my partner achieve common ground with our viewpoints, and how will we move forward in parenting?” The good guy, bad guy thing is great for cop movies, but not for real-life parenting – it’s best for the child if you are both on the same page and consistent.
